What's Automatic Renewal?

In addition to being a super cute superhero kitty, automatic renewal is also a new service all seven libraries in Wayne County have implemented to make your life easier!

Here's How it Works!

When you borrow an eligible item from any Wayne County library, it will be automatically renewed for you two times if you don't return it. How cool is THAT?!

NEW BOOKS:
14 day loan period + two 14 day renewals = keep 'em for 42 days!

OTHER BOOKS:
​21 day loan period + two 21 day renewals = keep 'em for 63 days!

DVDS/BLU-RAYS:
7 day loan period + two 7 day renewals = keep 'em for 21 days!

Exceptions to Automatic Renewal

Automatic renewal does NOT apply in certain circumstances...see below for details.

WHEN SOMEONE IS WAITING
​for the item you have out on loan = no automatic renewal.

INTERLIBRARY LOAN
If we special ordered your item from another PA library = no automatic renewal.

IF YOUR ACCOUNT IS BLOCKED because you have a balance due = no automatic renewal.

What happens AFTER the two Automatic Renewals?

IT'S TIME TO RETURN YOUR ITEM!
After the two automatic renewals, your item will be due back at the library. Please return it promptly so others can borrow it.

STILL NEED YOUR ITEM?
If your item is due but you need more time, you may be able to check it out again. Stop in, call, or email us and we'll be happy to help you.

​WHAT IF I DON'T RETURN MY ITEM?
If you don't return your item, it will be marked 'lost' in our system and you'll be responsible for the replacement cost. Your account will be blocked until that fee is paid or the item is returned.
